Some additional info on W.G. Weimer – William Gideon Weimer was the son of Dr. Adam W. Weimer and Mary Ann Eliza Towell (later married Bonds, then Boggess). He was born Jan 6, 1864 in Clarksville, Johnson Co., AR and was the youngest of five children born to this couple. He married Cora Edna Jobe of Clarksville, AR on Sept. 4, 1894, and had one son, William Benjamin on Sept. 8, 1894 in Pottsville, Pope Co., AR. After moving to McAlester around 1894, they had a second son, Frank G. Weimer on Feb. 5, 1909. W. G. Weimer was one of the founding businessmen in McAlester, purchasing several city blocks and establishing a pharmacy and a bank. He was instrumental in bringing electricity to the city, and later became involved in the gas industry. He died in Kansas City, MO.
