This piece stands out more than any of the others for its use of simple colors which contributes to its elegance and uniqueness. Most or all of the other pieces are gold-based and the stones are usually all one color. This one boasts stones of different size and color and shows very well in the…Read more

Heirloom 42 – The Family Jewels – A Golden, Blue Glass Brooch
The brilliance of this piece is lost in the flat photography but I’m positive that whomever wore this item shone brightly. I tried to adjust the contrast and color in order to display the piece as naturally as possible, which is also why I include similar, almost duplicate photos. Heirloom Disclaimer – I have done…Read more
Heirloom 41 – The Family Jewels – Sparkling Brooch

Letter 26 – A Grieving Son Writes of His Mother’s Death
Austin’s brother, Luther, writes about the details of his mother’s funeral and how their father, Silas, would go into her room time after time and weep. The inconsistency in the color of the pages is due to having to adjust the contrast and color in order to make these letters as legible as possible.
Letter 25 – The Vernard Letters – Part Three
Nurse Leva or Lena Enke writes again to the Peratts, a few months after the death of Vernard.
Letter 24 – Luther’s Imminent Death
Emma writes Austin regarding their brother, Luther’s, expected death. I believe that I read in another letter that he was eaten up with cancer but I can’t be certain. I will update this if I am able to specifically track that information down.
Letter 23 – The Vernard Letters – Part Two
This is a letter from one of Vernard’s nurses from the Boulder Colorado Sanitarium. The Peratts seemed to have made an impression on Miss Lena Enke as she writes to them a few weeks after Vernard’s passing. She also wrote again in July. The notes in the last picture on this page are from Lula,…Read more
